Objectionable Content? and a Finish

In the "Things That Make You Go Huh?" Department, someone flagged my blog as having objectionable content and my account was disabled until about five minutes ago. Momcat and I have poured over previous postings and asked ourselves the following questions:

  • Did we post anything hateful?
  • Did we insult a particular religion, race, nationality or gender?
  • Did we break the copyright law?
  • Was Maggie's spelling quiz using Poo just too much for someone?
Whatever it was we did, the Blogger folks at google must have decided that we aren't so objectionable after all.

So a request to the readers out there; if there is indeed something you find objectionable about this blog, please be kind and courageous enough to leave a comment to that effect rather than somehow alerting the whole blogger community to how awful I've made you feel.

Now, onto something completely different...

The Christmas Ribbons quilt pattern written by Jan Doench of Best Friends Quilt Shoppe is a finished top. Here it is on the design wall waiting ready to be quilted.

This picture gives you a good idea of the size. It's the perfect size for a child or two to cuddle under on a sofa while waiting for Santa Claus.

The next project for the shop is an apron. Details to follow.

Momcat is heading to Indianapolis for a few days in order to attend a lecture and two workshops by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville. I will miss her, but I'm glad she gets to go with her friends (Jill, Becca, Jennifer and Cathy). She promises to take her camera along and come back with lots of pictures to post.

Logan and I had to hit the catnip pretty hard when I couldn't get to my blog. Here we are suffering our hangover when what commercial should appear on the telly?? Of course, Momcat won't let us take aspirin, but she found it amusing anyway. Chuckling at our misery. I object! I strongly object!

A Taxing Day

Logan's exhausted from doing the taxes.

You really don't want to be around here when it's time to work on taxes. There's cussing (which is a rarity in these-here-parts), muttering under the breath, papers everywhere, and in general high levels of distress.

Uncle Sam hates the idea that hubby has a free-lance job in addition to his regular work, and we get hit with a huge self-employment tax every year. Therefore, the process is put off as long as possible. But today it's done! And the damages were just about what we expected.

Which explains this.

We've also got another project to go to retreat. Cutting time is tomorrow. This is the Pinwheel pattern from
Phenomenal Fat Quarter Quilts by M'Liss Rae Rawley. There are six dark/medium fat quarters for the pinwheels, six lights for the background, yellow for the inner border, and a pretty print for the outer border. A lot of the fabrics are from Chez Moi for Moda (some are "Posh" and some are "Charisma," plus a few odds and ends thrown in).

Plans for this weekend are also firmed up. A few postponements had to be made due to Linda's health, but we're still on to attend The
Cheezies concert at Miami University tomorrow night. Linda's son is a member of this men's acapella group. I've included a Youtube link to give you an idea of the joy in music that will be shared. (You'll need to cut and paste the link into your browser.) Philip is the tall, light brown-haired fellow singing and emoting right behind the lead singers. This video makes my heart soar with love for this young man!

Saturday night a couple of girlfriends are coming over to eat pizza and watch "Calendar Girls." Great chick flick evening! And of course, this Sunday is Easter. Rejoice!!

Dinner anyone?

Tea Roses Top Finished

Linda and I have been sewing most of today. We put some more strips onto our pretty log cabin quilt, but the big news is that the borders are on the Tea Roses quilt.

We are purring with delight. This quilt has been in the works for about a year. The next step is for us to pick a backing fabric. And then we get to baste the backing, batting and top together. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! That's the favorite part for those of us of the feline persuasion.

Imagine all five of us kitties as we rearrange the batting, crawl under the top as Linda tries to smooth it out, and steal safety pins. Good times.

This is Logan. That hand petting Logan belongs to Darren, a member of our human family.

Logan was rescued from the woods. She was emaciated with matted fur, covered in burrs, had worms (including a really nasty tapeworm) and had a bite wound on her neck. I've asked her to tell me more about it, but she prefers to concentrate on her present life. If Keith and Linda hadn't brought her home from Hocking Hills, she probably would have died.

At first, I wasn't very happy to share our house with someone else. But now she is my favorite sister. We're about the same age. We are both having to get used to new kittens in the house.

We'll save the story of Butch and Sundance for another day.
